The sino-Korean word mullon (勿論) belongs to the basic vocabulary of Korean. Its grammatical category is not noun but adverb, which is the minor view among Korean dictionaries. The constructions with mullon are of three types. The first type consists of sentential adverb mullon followed by a sentence. The second is ‘NP/S+postposition+ mullon+(copula)’, in which there are some constraints on S, postposition and copula. Copula-ellipsis may occur in this construction, when copula is in a connective form. The third is ‘mullon+(copula)’. one of its subtype, mullon, representing a sentence by itself possibly stems from the first type.
